  1. Kindergarten Yard Update:

The installation of the Kindergarten play equipment took place on November 16 and 17.  The safe surfacing was completed on November 23.   Posts have been installed for the outside classroom and the benches will be installed this weekend.  The final grading should be completed soon and then the tires will be installed.  The safe surfacing is currently a rubber mulch and in the spring resin will be added to create a rubberized surface for the children.  The sandbox will be built and installed in the spring.

  2. Barrie Colts Hockey Game:

We sold 119 tickets and raised $708 for our school community.

  3. Chocolate Bar Fundraiser:

The total amount deposited from the Chocolate Bar Sales to date is $30, 183.10.  This money is being used towards finishing the kindergarten yard, to purchase chromebooks and ‘Dash and Dot’ for coding/STEM, and Makerspace items in the library.

  4. Snow Valley Booklets:

Deposits to date are $1279.00 but the final tally of booklets sold is to be completed by Friday November 24.  Our profit is approximately $640.

  5. Random Acts of Kindness Advent Calendar

Our Grade 8 students will be leading our school community in creating Advent Calendars that focus on daily ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ throughout the month of December.  Being kind, being inclusive, and showing empathy to others will be the focus.

  6. Christmas Basket Donations:

A note will be sent home in the next couple of days outlining the theme for each class.  Donations will need to be brought to the school by Wednesday December 6.  Parent council volunteers will assemble the baskets between December 7 & 8.  The baskets will be displayed during school hours in the front foyer between December 11-20, as well as during both our Primary Christmas Concert and Kindergarten Christmas Concert.  Parent volunteers are needed for sales during lunches between 12:20pm-12:50pm.  Tickets are 3 for $1.00.  Tickets will be available for purchase during lunch hours from December 11-15 and during the afternoon (1:30pm) and evening (6:30pm) performances of the Christmas Concert on December 14 and during the Kindergarten Christmas concert on December 20.

  7. The ‘Christmas Store’ Service Project:

Our Christmas Store will soon be open for business!  Mrs. Farelli and her grade 7 students have excitedly been stocking our ‘Christmas Store’ for this December.  Our kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students will have an opportunity to shop for gifts for their family members and take advantage of our gift-wrapping services, with all proceeds going towards helping families in need.  Items will range in price from $0.25-$4.00.  We are still in need of wrapping paper, tissue, small gift bags, tape, gift tags, as well as gently used or new gift items for boys, girls, men, and women.

  8. Spring Fundraiser:

We have decided our Spring Fundraiser will take place between April 3-20, 2017.  We will be selling QSP products which includes a range of magazines, household products, baking items, etc.  The fundraiser can be done electronically where each student will get their own page and create their own fundraising goals.  The students can send out emails to their families and friends and sales are completed electronically.
